Our first Shining Star this issue is Amanda Wheelon, PTA. Amanda works at Avamere Transitional Care of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington.

Here is what his nominator had to say.

Amanda is a fantastic therapist in so many ways. Amanda is PRN and is always able to step in and work with any patient on her schedule. She works very well with families and communicating with the other therapy disciplines. From a PT standpoint, she addresses ALL patient goals and makes excellent progress with our patients. If we could only get her to stay on full-time!

I have seen many occasions where Amanda has had to speak with a difficult family or a challenging patient, and she has handled it with ease and professionalism.

Amanda works toward our patient’s personal therapy goals for successful outcomes and a return to a lesser level of care. You can tell in her treatments that she enjoys what she does and this carries over to our patients!

Our second Shining Star this issue is Kirstin Schulze, PTA. Kirstin also works at Avamere Transitional Care of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington.

Here is what her nominator had to say.

Kirstin has jumped right in to our therapy team and become a wonderful asset in so many ways. She is always willing to take on challenging patients, extra groups, and really anything that is thrown at her! She handles all patient interactions with great professionalism. Her patient outcomes truly prove that she genuinely cares for our patients. She also makes fantastic baked goods!!!

Kirstin has worked almost exclusively with some difficult patients that were likely to not return home, however, they are on their way to a successful discharge because of what a great PTA Kirstin is!

Kirstin takes feedback exceptionally well and immediately applies it to her daily care. She is the true definition of a team player and we are so very lucky that she joined our therapy team!
