For Immediate Release: 9/3/2020
WILSONVILLE, Ore. – The Physical Therapy Association of Washington (PTWA) selected Jessica “Kele” Murdin, PT, MPT, Clinical Knowledge Broker with Infinity Rehab, as part of the American Physical Therapy Association’s (APTA) Centennial Scholars Program.
The program begins with Murdin’s first meeting on January 16, 2021 in New York. As part of this program, Murdin will participate in leadership trainings and complete a capstone project with PTWA.
“I deeply believe in and am committed to physical therapy as a profession,” Murdin stated. “I see this profession as integral to the betterment and sustainability of our communities across the entire life span.”
Murdin stated she anticipates helping the Washington chapter develop a stronger, deeper membership with APTA. She looks forward to learning the structure of the therapy organization and how they will thrive for years to come.
“I am honored to be a part of this exciting opportunity for change,” Murdin shared. “I have been a member of PTWA for almost 20 years, and I look forward to seeing how I can give back a small portion of what I have been given and lay the groundwork to encourage participation for all those to come.”
Murdin identifies the program as a unique opportunity, especially amongst recent changes in perspective worldwide.
“What’s going on in the world with a pandemic and social justice – it’s a ripe time for change,” she stated.
Infinity Rehab’s Division President, JoLynn Munro, congratulates Murdin on her selection for the program.
“I congratulate Kele on being selected to represent our company, the Washington chapter, and the physical therapy profession as a Centennial Scholar,” Munro stated.
Murdin’s new role as an APTA Centennial Scholar adds to her strong history with PTWA, as she founded the Geriatric Special Interest Group in 2017 and continues to serve as its president. She also serves as the Federal Affairs Liaison for the association.
