Infinity Rehab team members gathered from all over to learn, network, and celebrate at the annual Symposium event.
On the first night, attendees gathered for the Employee Appreciation event, complete with dinner and an awards ceremony, followed by a party.
Here are 2019’s award winners.

Clinical Excellence Award

Honorable Mention: Avamere of King City and Willow Springs
1st Place: We had a tie for first place with Prestige Care of Camas and Prestige Post-Acute & Rehab of Centralia.

Humanitarian Award

We recognize Melissa Brackle, Director of Rehab at Birchwood Manor, for her service during the Nebraska flood in March. Melissa worked to provide comfort to their patients who were forced to evacuate.
Melissa also served with sister senior living communities who experienced challenges during the flood while attending to her still displaced family. Thank you, Melissa, for consistently demonstrating the core values of integrity, respect for others, and a passion for the quality of peoples’ lives.

Home Office Award

Jennifer Richardson, Lead Staffing & Traveler Coordinator, was recognized as an exceptional employee who shows compassion, works tirelessly to ensure staff have the support they need, and brings many ideas to improve DOR training.
One of her team members says her organization and positive attitude spills over into everything she takes on.

Lifetime Achievement Award

This award recognizes an employee who dedicates their life to a worthy cause and makes an impact in others’ lives. This year’s Lifetime Achievement award recipient is Lucy Parker, MA, CCC-SLP at Landmark Care Center in Yakima, Washington.
Over the course of her career, she has touched the lives of thousands of patients in a range of settings including acute care, a traumatic brain injury unit, out-patient, home health, and sub-acute rehab. Lucy has supervised more than 30 Clinical Fellows during her career.
2019 marks her 50th anniversary of being a speech-language pathologist. Congratulations on a lifetime of achievements, Lucy!

Katie Walker Award

This award honors Katie Walker, who was a physical therapist at St. Francis Healthcare in Bellingham, Washington for 10 years. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2000 that unfortunately progressed to brain cancer in 2008.
The Katie Walker Award recognizes an exceptional DOR/OPCD that impacts patient care, rehab team members, and communities in a unique and significant way.
This year’s winner is Erica Goldsmith, DOR at Avamere Rehabilitation of King City. Erica is a Leadership Academy graduate and was voted and appointed by Oregon Governor Kate Brown and the State Senate to serve on the Physical Therapist Licensing Board.

Therapist Shining Star Award

Many of our therapists received the Shining Star Award. Recipients were honored during the event with a display in the event dining hall. They are also recognized in the Insider throughout the year.
