As of January 1, 2023, premium collections for the Paid Family and Medical Leave programs for Oregon and Colorado began, while Washington’s premium rate increased. You will notice an additional deduction on your pay statements if you reside in one of these three states. Please refer to the corresponding FAQ’s for more details about these programs.
DETAILS FOR EACH STATE:
OREGON
On Jan. 1, 2023, employees and employers began paying into the new program
On Sept. 3, 2023, employees can start applying for benefits
COLORADO
On Jan. 1, 2023, employees and employers began paying into the new program.
On Jan. 1, 2024, employees can start applying for benefits
WASHINGTON
The WA paid leave program has been in place since January of 2020
On Jan. 1, 2023, the premium increased from .065% to .08% to keep pace with more people using the program. Employers will pay 27.24% of the total premium and employees will pay 72.76% – a ratio similar to 2022.
