CYBERSECURITY AWARENESS MONTH

It’s that time of year again.  Fall is upon us, and the holidays will be here before you know it.  It’s also Cybersecurity Awareness Month!  This is a great time to think about security for work and home as we head into the holiday season.

For this month, we’d like to remind you to think about a couple of things for your personal security as well as company security:

  • Watch out for phishing emails and texts trying to get you to react and share information – these can lead to ransomware, scams, and other malicious attacks.
  • Remember to protect personal health information (PHI) and personally identifiable information (PII).  HIPAA requires us to protect patient information, and it is often up to us to protect our own information. When sending emails that contain PHI or PII, please type SECURE in the email subject line so the email will be sent with encryption.
  • If you suspect that an email may not be legitimate, try contacting the sender directly to verify.  DO NOT click on the “from” address in the email.  Send a separate email to the sender by typing in the email address.

Please keep an eye out and report security incidents or suspicious messages to the IT department.  Stay safe!

SUPPORT

When contacting IT support, include as much detail as possible with your initial communication.  Please include the laptop or iPad number, the issue you’re having, how long it’s been happening, and any error messages you are receiving—including screenshots if possible.  The more detail you include, the more effectively and efficiently IT can troubleshoot the issue.

Please note that for NetHealth issues other than password resets, your best first option for support is NetHealth.  Prime Care can only reset your password and cannot help with any other NetHealth issues.

Thank you for helping us keep IT support seamless and efficient.

EQUIPMENT

A reminder to please let IT know if a piece of equipment is being moved to another location.  For inventory and support purposes, we need to have an accurate inventory of where devices are being used.

Equipment requests should be submitted using the IT Asset Request Form.  This will automatically alert IT to the request and allow us to better keep track of it.  Please don’t email, text, or call IT directly.  If you have trouble accessing the form, please let us know.
