In a time when LGBTQIAP2S+ folx are experiencing a rise in active hate speech and actions, and there is an increase in anti-affirming legislation that restricts access to healthcare, our LGBTQIAP2S+ employee resource group (ERG) is extremely excited to present some new resources for our employees to show up in support of our LGBTQIAP2S+ patients.

SAFE SPACE STICKERS

Infinity Rehab is excited to share the roll out of optional safe space markers in the form of name badge stickers. These stickers are completely optional and voluntary, but available to any employee who would like to visually demonstrate their commitment to being an ally to the LGBTQIAP2S+ community. The stickers easily fit on name badges, are complimentary, and will be available year-round. They can be ordered by clicking on the below link:

PROGRESS PRIDE STICKERS

The Progress Pride flag symbolism:

  • Pink, light blue and white to represent transgender and non-binary individuals
  • Black and brown to represent marginalized LGBTQIAP2S+ communities of color
  • Colors of the rainbow to represent the LGBTQIAP2S+ community

Through our actions and commitment today, we can create a world where everyone feels safe and has a sense of belonging to show up as their most authentic selves, not only during PRIDE, but all year round.

LGBTQIAP2S+ INFOGRAPHICS

The second is a collection of infographics that highlight scenarios LGBTQIAP2S+ people have experienced. The infographics will be available in the June 2023 Infinity Insiders as well as in the DEIB resources on Springboard. Each one of the four scenarios examines a time when a person was “othered,” had exclusive behaviors directed toward them, or their fully authentic self was not recognized. We encourage you to spend some time with the material, reflect on the images, and then consider the accompanying questions. This can either be done as an individual activity or with other members of your team or social circle.  Through this intentional process, we build our empathy and commit to showing up in very real and effective ways for our patients.

The first two scenarios are available below with discussion questions to foster conversation.

Thank you for your dedication and support to providing the very best care to our patients.
