Erin Willems, OTR/L and ARD for WA3, created this video to support efforts in fostering a more rehab-minded approach to care throughout our communities. This video is intended to help staff better understand the principles of restorative and rehabilitation-focused care, while reinforcing the important role every team member plays in promoting resident function, independence, and quality of life.
It is meant to be shared across all roles in SNF, from CNAs to housekeeping to dietary staff. If successful, our rehab patients will have more opportunities to fully participate in ADL sessions and more opportunities to practice functional transfers which will in turn prevent declines, improve outcomes, and preserve dignity.
